JOHAR JHARKHAND

When people talk about traveling in India, names like Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, Mumbai, or Himachal often pop up first. But tucked away in the eastern part of the country lies Jharkhand, a state that still feels raw, untouched, untravelled, and close to nature. Maybe that’s what makes it so serene. The hills can be as quiet and eerie as insects calling to the sounds of birds chirping filling the air. Sunrise and sunset are peaceful and melancholic. Jharkhand, often called the “Land of Forest,” is a place where the sound of water gushing down the mountains, rolling hills, and sacred temples located at the heart of tribal culture can often make one reminiscent of their past. Jharkhand can be far from human hustle and bustle and situated within nature’s lap. It gives you an indigenous vibe with its vibrant tribal culture and nature’s secret hidden locations, where hills and forests are as much alive as any bustling city. Places to visit in Jharkhand ranges from dusty black coalfields to scenic green lush forests, from chotanagpur plateau to the hilly terrains.

Here’s a brief guide

  • Weather and Climatic conditions

Jharkhand has a tropical climate, but as much of its land is covered in forest, some places have pleasant weather conditions. Although parts of the state are on the drier side, there are plenty of monsoons, all thanks to the hills. Summers are quite warm, with temperatures rising beyond the 40°C mark, and winters can be chilly in places where mercury dips below 5°C.

If you want to witness Jharkhand’s waterfalls in their full glory, plan a monsoon trip, but if you want to have an overall experience of the places to visit in Jharkhand, go in the winter.

Jharkhand’s landscape resembles a living canvas filled with rugged hills, green forests, and winding rivers that bring life to the land. The state takes pride in its lush, green, undomesticated forests, its rolling highlands, and its cascading waterfalls that create the background of an untamed beauty. The soil is rich in minerals and fossil fuels, making it the country’s hidden gem.
