  • Cheeseburger
  • Fried chicken
  • soda and soft-drinks
  •  Ice-cream
  • Chocolate and candy

The benefits of eating junk food :

Junk food has many problem for instance:

1.Time Consuming – It can be time consuming and due to the fast changing society we live in people are often too busy at work to prepare their meals at home or pack a healthy lunch to go with them to work, school, college. Thus junk food serves them well by being available exactly when they need it.

2. Affordable – especially for students, many of whom are of limited means (compared to health food). Therefore junk food is much less expensive than health food.

3. Taste – It has a great deal of fat, calories, and sugar in comparison to health food, so it’s inherently tastes better than health food. In addition to the fact that junk foods have a high level of fat, calories, and sugar; junk foods also offer a selection to their consumers; they can be created and consumed exactly as a consumer desires, thus providing their consumer with additional satisfaction.

The Drawback of Eating junk food :

Overindulging in junk foods can be detrimental to the human body and is often associated with unhealthy food choices.

1. High risk of Heart and Liver disease:

An excess of many types of junk foods leads to heart and liver problems due to the increase in fat content/Transfats, sodium, and cholesterol intake, which then leads to an increased chance of heart attack or stroke.

2.Cause obesity :

Increased obesity due to the high calorie and unhealthy fat content present in junk food; as such, frequent consumption will likely result in weight gain and obesity.

3 .Diabetes:

Increased risk of developing diabetes. The repeated consumption of junk foods such as sugary beverages, candy, or dessert causes blood sugar levels to spike; if this occurs continuously over time, the risk of developing type 2 diabetes is present.

4.Digestive Problem :

Poor digestive health. Very few junk foods contain any fiber, which is essential for maintaining proper digestive health; therefore, the lack of fiber contributes to constipation, difficulties with bowel movements, and other digestion-related issues.

Here is how to cut down on junk food intake:

Reducing your intake of junk food does not necessarily mean getting rid of some of your all-time favorite foods. The main goal is to develop and establish better eating habits gradually over time – little changes you can do to your daily life can positively impact you big-time over an extended period of time.

The first step is to start off your day with a healthy breakfast.

Many people skip breakfast and then find themselves starving later on during the day, which then leads to cravings for items like chips, burgers, or some kind of sugar-laden snack. If you eat a healthy breakfast of nutrition, such as eggs, oatmeal, fruits, or whole grain bread, and you will feel fuller for more extended periods of time.

Second, keep healthy snacks on hand,

Whenever someone has a craving because of hunger, the easiest way to resolve that craving is to reach for the most convenient thing at hand. Therefore, instead of keeping chips and candy in your pantry or refrigerator at home, keep healthy snacks such as fruits, nuts, yogurts, roasted chickpeas, or home-made sandwiches.

Examine Food Labels Closely,

Many packaged foods contain excess sugar, salt, and saturated fat that you might not see right away when buying them on the shelf; by reviewing the nutrition information on the packaging, you can decide if that food is the best choice for meeting your dietary needs.

Reduce Visits to Fast Food,

If you normally visit a fast food restaurant several times per week, work on cutting down on the amount of time you go to a fast food restaurant.

Effects of Junk Food on Kids and Teenagers:

Increased Chances Of Obesity:

The most typical outcome of eating too much junk food is that it contributes to obesity. Foods that are referred to as “junk” tend to have high amounts of fat and sugar, but contain little or no vitamins, minerals, or other important nutrients. Because of this, when children eat more junk food than they need to maintain a healthy weight, they are going to create more fat in their bodies and become overweight.

Nutritional Deficiency:

As children continue to grow, they need to be able to eat well, which includes getting enough protein, vitamin and mineral intake; calcium and iron. If children use junk food instead of claiming a typical diet; junk food generally does not have all the vitamins and minerals necessary for the growth of a healthy body.

Rather than eating purchased cookies, crackers, or fried foods, an individual can make nutritious food from scratch in their own kitchen! Some examples of this are fresh fruit salad, veggie sticks and a yogurt-based dip, whole grain sandwiches, smoothies, and roasted chickpeas.
