Selfish people born that way, or do their experiences and situations make them this way? Are you a Selfish person? If yes, why are you like that? Some people may naturally be more Selfish because of their genes. Others may become Selfish because of their past experiences. Sometimes, life situations can also make a person more egocentric.
Hi, I am Lima from Asia, and this is my story about selfishness. Why do people become Self Obsessed in the first place?
So let’s start…,
I grew up as a simple child in a middle-class family. My father worked as an employee at a private company, and my mother was a housewife. I also had a little brother, and our pet dog Jojo –he was a street dog. You might think we bought him, but no, we didn’t have that kind of money to buy a dog. I always wanted that life where we live happily together, but everyone knows a middle class family struggles to make that happen. How is it even possible? Sometimes, when you have to become a bit selfish just to survive, it teaches you your own valuable lessons. Back then, I was very alone and felt like a sad person. I often wondered why we couldn’t change our situation, asking myself, “What is happening with me?”

Then I saw and realized the truth: walking alone doesn’t mean you have failed even though it hurts, it also brings a strange kind of peace because it means you are standing out as a different person in the crowd.
People always said to you, “Why are you so selfish?” Selfish? Really? Practising self-love for yourself while being called selfish by others- wow, that’s so funny, isn’t it? When I finally chose myself, nobody stood by me. Everyone misunderstood me, and even my own family betrayed me, saying, “You are a liar. Why did we even give birth to you, just to see this day?”
Despite that, I stayed strong to build myself up and became what they call a “Selfish” person. But you know what? It makes me happy, it gives me freedom, and I am going to build a successful life and reach the top.
Listen, dear- sometimes a egocentric person isn’t heartless or feeling less. They have just been shaped by bad experiences in the past. You know what? They aren’t selfish everywhere or with everyone. When you see someone looking very selfish, try to look deeper and find the reason why they become that way.

Always love yourself- a little bit selfishly, because you deserve it!!
