Day 1: Arrival at Sittong – Welcome to the Orange Village
Arriving at NJP – The Beginning of Our Sittong Journey

And finally, we reached NJP (New Jalpaiguri Junction). As per my experience, our train Darjeeling Mail arrived around 8:30 AM, right on time.But it can be late some time. The journey was super comfortable , through out the journey we have clean compartments, good amenities, and peaceful overnight travel. If you are planning a Sittong tour,as per my experiece Darjeeling Mail is highly recommended for a comfortable journey.
Once you step out of the station, the NJP Station Road area is filled with plenty of car options — private cars, shared cabs, and pre-paid taxis.so You can choose as per your budget and group size. But since this was my first friend’s trip, I didn’t want any last-minute confusion, so we pre-booked our car in advance. Trust me, pre-booking makes the journey stress-free, especially if you’re traveling early in the morning or during peak season.

In Sittong, most homestays are located in Upper Sittong, offering stunning valley views and a peaceful environment. During our trip, we stayed at Yang Cottage, and I must say it was a cozy and comfortable stay. The per-head price was ₹1,600 per day, which included a clean room, homemade meals, and warm hospitality so Its highly recommended.
After complete the lunch, you can started exploring or take rest for few minites.

Sittong is lovingly known as the Orange Village of Darjeeling. The orchards, especially around Middle Sittong , this are the delight to walk through them . During winter, the trees are heavy with ripe oranges, and the whole area feels warm and welcoming. And the smell of this orange feels you more happy. A simple walk here lets you experience village life at its most genuine.
